EGO ( Ending Governed by Ourselves) in Human Relationships....

In this fast changing human world affected by Globalization, day to day scientific innovations, exponential rising population, increased struggle for limited available resources with desire for fulfillment of material needs from among fellow human beings; all I believe is being done to be happy; be it at international, national or individual level.
Our India is undergoing a transitional epoch from rural to modern societies and its people can’t remain unaffected by the rapid changes be it social, political, economical, psychological, cultural or any ideology governing human lives.
Hereby, my talk revolves around social psychological phenomenon “EGO”. In simple terms as per Freud (Father of psychology), Ego which has been there since times of yore in every individual to counter balance between Id (Innate primitive Instincts like hunger, thirst, sexual drives  etc.) and Superego (Morality, ethics acquired by social conditioning) for socially acceptable actions for sustainable livelihood. Today inability of Ego has become more noticeable in our social lives disturbing our harmonious human relationships largely. The very examples being rising rates of suicides among children’s, road rage killings, increased rate of divorce, violence against women,  decrease in tolerance among individuals, detrimental rupture of social institutions like family , marriage, kinships  etc, and many more examples you can find out by just giving a keen look around yourself.
Why I put up this thought is to bring attention to Ego's alarming negative implications and need for  mechanisms to boost our ego in appropriate direction  to harmonize human relations though not up to utopian level but to a larger manageable extent. Thus leading me to rephrasing the E.G.O. as acronym of Ending Governed by Ourselves in human relations, whereby by ourselves I mean to say an Individual. As Levis Strauss has put it “everything exist in binaries” so is our ego i.e., Positive ego and Negative ego.
Let me elaborate it for you through an example, suppose you had a hard fight with your childhood best friend and you decided not to see him again in life or reconcile with (negative ego), but in due course of time when you contemplate and comprehend, miss the lovely moments you shared together which gave you happiness, peace and joy (which everyone strive for). It is the very moment where you have to decide what will be your action towards the relationship and what ending you want for that cherish able bond you shared i.e. do something to preserve it or let it go by the winds of time in search of someone else  to fill that gap . To be true you will never find anyone to fill that void of your life so what bent you wish to give to your ego? A positive bent will change things into a pool of happiness. And that very bent is your boost to positive E.G.O. (Ending Governed by Ourselves) in human relationships.
Through this I wish to bring home the point that it’s our ego which decides the cause of pain or everlasting happiness in human relationships. Let’s handle EGO with care for we are humans. I may sound simplistic, emotional or overemphasizing, to a few of my friends reading this piece of thought on the importance of human relationship; but  at the same time I would humbly ask them to check didn’t have they missed something in their lives which still creates a bumpy niche in their hearts.

I would love your comments on the same.
Enjoy.
